These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders placed on maostudioparis.com.
By purchasing on the website, the customer accepts the following terms without reservation.

Mao Studio may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The applicable version is the one published on the website at the time of purchase.

This Terms & Conditions are a contract governing the relationship between the customers and Mao Studio.                                                                                       

3. Products

Mao Studio collaborates with artisans worldwide, using traditional and predominantly handmade techniques.
Each piece is unique, and variations in color, shape, or texture may occur. These variations are not defects but a natural part of artisanal production.

We strive to describe all items as accurately as possible.
If you have questions before placing an order, please contact customer service.

Availability:
Some products are in stock, while others are made to order. Handmade production may require additional time.
If delays occur beyond the estimated delivery timeframe, you will be notified promptly.

4. Payment Methods & Security

4.1 Credit Cards

We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and Apple Pay.
Your card is charged at the moment the order is confirmed through Shopify.

4.2 Pay-in-Installments : Klarna & Alma via Mollie

If available in your country, you may choose to pay with Klarna or Alma in 2 or 3 installments.
To access this service, you must have an account with Klarna or Alma and adhere to their respective terms.

4.3 Payment Security

All payment information is processed securely by certified third-party providers.
If payment fails for any reason, the order will be automatically cancelled.
Mao Studio cannot be held responsible for fraudulent use of payment methods on the website.

5. Order Process

1. Select your products and add them to your cart.

2. Review order details before checkout (products, prices and shipping). By clicking order you agree with all these given informations. 

3. Once the order is confirmed and payment is accepted, you will receive an order confirmation email with:

   • Order number

   • Selected delivery method

   • Total amount paid

4. Once your order comes in, we take a moment to check that everything is available.
   If your item is made to order, we’ll reach out to our suppliers to confirm the production details and the estimated lead time.

   As soon as we get their confirmation, we’ll email you with the exact timeframe so you know exactly what to expect.

Mao Studio reserves the right to refuse an order in cases of suspected fraud or violation of these Terms & Conditions.

6. Delivery Conditions & Costs

Orders may be delivered either:

• To your address via third-party carriers (Colissimo, chronopost, Fedex, ect) The carrier selected will be the best option available at the time of the order, depending on the weight and destination of your order

• Relay pick up point via Mondial relay, Chronopost. 

• Picked up at our showroom in Bidart, by appointment.

We ship as quickly as possible, depending on your region and product availability.
If delivery cannot be made within the expected timeframe, we will notify you by email.

6.1 Delivery Areas

We ship to:

• European Union

• Non-EU Europe: UK, Switzerland, Monaco

• North America: USA, Canada, Mexico

• Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

• Middle East: United Arab Emirates

For deliveries outside these zones, please contact us — we may open additional markets upon request.

We ship all products worldwide to the countries listed below, except for small furniture items, as their shipping costs are extremely high. If you would like a shipping quote, feel free to contact us at [email].

6.2 Shipping Fees & Customs

Shipping fees depend on destination and weight; they are displayed at checkout before payment.
International customers are responsible for any additional costs such as customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees.
All products ship from France.

7. Transfer of Ownership & Risk

Products remain the property of Mao Studio until full payment is received.
Risk of loss, theft, or damage transfers to the customer once the parcel is handed over to the carrier.

8. Damaged Deliveries

If your parcel arrives damaged:

• Notify Mao Studio within 72 hours

• Contact the carrier as well

• Provide photos and all necessary information

This helps us process your claim as quickly as possible.

9. Return Policy

In accordance with French Consumer Law (Articles L.121-16 et seq.), you have 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal.

Return Conditions:

• Returns are at the customer’s expense and responsibility.

• Items must be returned unused, in perfect condition, and in their original packaging, including all accessories and order information.

• Returns that do not meet these conditions will be refused.

• Returns received after the 14-day period cannot be accepted.

Damaged Items:

If your order arrives defective or damaged, please contact customer service immediately with:

• Your order number

• Photos and details of the issue

We will assess whether you are eligible for a refund or replacement.
Return shipping costs remain at the customer’s charge unless otherwise stated.

11. Warranties

11.1 Legal Guantee of Conformity:

In accordance with articles L.217-4 of the French Consumer Code, Mao Studio undertakes to deliver products that conform to each customer's order, meaning : 

• Products that match the descriptoin provided by Mao Studio ;
• Products that possess the qualities a customer may legitimately expect based on the statements and information supplied by Mao Studio. 
• The customer has 2 years from delivery to make a claim under this guarantee.                                                                                                                                 

11.2 Legal Gurantee against hidden defects :

In addition to the conformity guarantee, the customer is also protected by the legal guarantee agains hideen defects ( Articles 1641 and followinf of the French Civil Code). 

This applies to defects that were not visible at the time of purchase, existed before the sale, and are serious enough to make the product unusable or significantly less useful. 

The customer has 2 years from discovering the defect to act. In tis case, it's up to the customer to prove that the defect existed prior to purchase. 

If a hidden defect is confirmed, the customer may choose either to return to product for a refund or to keep it and receive a price reduction. 

12. Liability

Our responsibility is limited to the value of the product you purchased.
We are not liable for minor mistakes or small oversights that do not significantly affect your order.

This limitation does not apply if our actions cause bodily injury, illness, or death.

13. Online Dispute Resolution

In accordance with Article 14(1) of EU Regulation No. 524/2013, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform accessible via the link supplied in these Terms and Conditions.

The Customer may use this platform : https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/main/                                                                         to submit a complaint regarding an online purchase.
However, we inform you that we are neither obliged nor willing to participate in alternative dispute resolution procedures before consumer mediation or arbitration bodies.
